Schedule
- The program is operated two days per week
- Hours of operation are 9am to 3pm
- 1:1 or 1:2 support is provided, depending on individual needs
- Local transport (to the Rochedale Centre) can be arranged with Matancare.
A typical day starts with a story and a sharing activity about how they are feeling. Followed by Business Studies and then morning tea at the dining area. One morning the group does an exercise class, another morning they do group music therapy. After lunch each day they either do an interactive lecture theatre presentation and quiz, or a group communication module. The end of the day is for individually sharing the highlights of the day and having some fun through games.
ChoiceThe participants are adults, or are moving into adulthood, so they are not treated like children. Their opinions matter, and they have choices. If they want to sit out or choose to do something else they can.
Augmented communication is used to support all participants, even those who are verbal. |
Fun and friendshipsA fundamental part of having a Higher Education experience is having fun and making new friends. Most tertiary graduates would testify that they made lifelong friends during their time in Higher Education, and the same can be true for Campus Life participants.

Program Steps
The Campus Life program is for three years. Although, some participants move through quicker and some slower - depending on their needs.
The first half of the program is about building confidence and capability, helping with independence and self-efficacy.
The second half of the program is about exploring what they are interested in and what they could be good at with a view to developing a work plan.
